The village of Tathwell lies approximately 3 miles south of Louth. The hamlet of Haugham is south-east of Tathwell and is just over a mile away.
The Tathwell parish church is dedicated to Saint Vedast, a patron saint invoked against eye trouble.
According to the population data at parish level from the 2011 Census, Tathwell had 253 residents with a median average of 54.
Tathwell has a war memorial cross sited on a corner of Thackers Lane and New Lane.
